Dectin-1, also known as CLEC7A or the β-glucan receptor, is a type II transmembrane C-type lectin-like receptor (CLR) primarily involved in the innate immune response to fungal pathogens. It functions as a pattern recognition receptor (PRR), recognizing β-1,3-linked and β-1,6-linked glucans found in fungal cell walls and some plants. It plays a crucial role in antifungal immunity, trained immunity, and is implicated in various inflammatory diseases.
