Overview

Deleted in lymphocytic leukemia 1 (DLEU1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene, meaning it is transcribed into RNA that does not encode a protein. DLEU1 is located at chromosome 13q14, a region frequently deleted in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and some other hematologic and solid malignancies. As a lncRNA, DLEU1 is believed to regulate gene expression, cell proliferation, and apoptosis, although full mechanistic details remain under investigation. Aberrant expression of DLEU1 has been linked to cancer progression and may serve as a biomarker for disease diagnosis or prognosis[3][5].
