Delta-like 1 homolog (DLK1)

Target
DLK1
Molecular classification
Single-pass transmembrane glycoprotein, EGF-like protein, Notch ligand family
01

Overview

Delta-like 1 homolog (DLK1) is a transmembrane protein and member of the Notch/Delta/Serrate family. It regulates cell growth, inhibits adipogenesis, and plays complex roles in muscle development and regeneration. DLK1 is overexpressed in various tumors and is paternally expressed. Cleavage by ADAM17/TACE releases a soluble form that is active in inhibiting adipogenesis.
