Target intelligence / Profile preview
The dengue virus capsid protein is a structural protein essential for the assembly and infectivity of the dengue virus. Its primary function is to package and protect the viral RNA genome within new virions. It also exhibits chaperone activity, and interacts with host cell histones, potentially disrupting normal nucleosome formation and altering host gene expression during infection.
