Target intelligence / Profile preview
The dengue virus NS3 protein is a multifunctional, nonstructural protein essential for viral replication and polyprotein processing. It contains an N-terminal serine protease domain (requires NS2B cofactor) and a C-terminal helicase/NTPase/RNA triphosphatase domain. NS3 is indispensable for the dengue virus life cycle, making it an attractive target for antiviral drug development.
Inhibition of polyprotein cleavage and/or RNA unwinding/replication.
