Deoxynucleotidyltransferase terminal-interacting protein 2 (DNTTIP2) is a chromatin-associated nuclear protein implicated in chromatin remodeling and regulation of gene transcription. It enhances the transcriptional activity of estrogen receptor alpha, interacts with terminal deoxynucleotidyltransferase, and is part of the ribosomal SSU processome, contributing to RNA folding, modifications, and cleavage. DNTTIP2 displays essential sequence features for RNA binding and is expressed in various tissues, with a role in RNA processing and organ development. Although not a direct therapeutic target, its expression may serve as a biomarker in chronic lung disease.
