Deoxyuridine triphosphatase pseudogene 2 (DUTP2) is a non-functional pseudogene related to deoxyuridine triphosphatase, an enzyme involved in nucleotide metabolism and DNA replication. DUTP2 does not encode an active protein and is not considered a druggable target or disease biomarker. The functional enzyme (DUT) is critical for maintaining genomic stability by hydrolyzing dUTP to dUMP, thereby preventing uracil misincorporation into DNA.
