Target intelligence / Profile preview
Dermokine (DMKN) is a secreted protein primarily expressed in epithelial tissues, particularly in the differentiated layers of skin. It is implicated in the regulation of keratinocyte differentiation, cornified envelope assembly, and endosomal trafficking through Rab5. Multiple isoforms of dermokine exist, arising from alternative splicing, and its expression is upregulated in inflammation. Mutations or dysregulation of DMKN are associated with certain inflammatory and keratinization disorders in humans[1][2][4][5][6].
