Overview

DPPA2P4 (Developmental pluripotency associated 2 pseudogene 4) is a human pseudogene related to the developmental pluripotency associated 2 (DPPA2) gene family[1][5]. Unlike DPPA2, which encodes a protein involved in early embryonic development and epigenetic regulation, DPPA2P4 does not encode a functional protein. It does not participate in known biological pathways, does not serve as a therapeutic target, and is not implicated in disease or drug interactions. DPPA2P4 should not be confused with DPPA2. DPPA2 is a DNA-binding protein with important roles in regulating zygotic genome activation and stem cell gene networks, but these functions do not apply to DPPA2P4[3][6].
