Target intelligence / Profile preview
Diagnostic dyes are chemical compounds used primarily for visualizing, staining, or highlighting tissues, cells, or biological structures during medical examinations and laboratory procedures. Unlike drugs that act on specific molecular targets, these dyes function by their physical and chemical properties—such as fluorescence, color change upon binding to certain biomolecules, or selective uptake by particular cell types. They do not have a pharmacological target and their utility arises from the absorption and emission of light at specific wavelengths, selective staining based on tissue type, or physical interaction with proteins without triggering biological signaling pathways.
Visualization/staining through absorption/emission spectra or selective uptake/binding based on tissue/cell characteristics
