Target intelligence / Profile preview
Dicamba is a synthetic benzoic acid herbicide (IUPAC name: 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid) with the chemical formula C8H6Cl2O3, widely used to control broadleaf weeds and woody plants in agriculture and turf management. It functions by mimicking the plant hormone auxin, resulting in unregulated growth and death in susceptible plant species. Dicamba is not a target molecule in the sense of being a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other biological macromolecule relevant to drug discovery or biomedical research[1][2][6][7][8].
