The choice of dietary protein source also affects gut microbiota composition and metabolic health outcomes[2]. Because "dietary protein source" does not refer to a single molecular entity but rather a nutritional category encompassing many types of food ingredients with varying molecular compositions and biological effects depending on context—it should not be considered a canonical drug target or receptor.
