DIP2A intronic transcript 1 (DIP2A-IT1) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from an intronic region of the DIP2A gene on human chromosome 21. It does not encode a protein or micropeptide and is localized in the cytosol. DIP2A-IT1 has been identified as upregulated in osteosarcoma tissue relative to normal bone and is thus implicated in cancer biology. Its detailed biological functions, molecular partners, and clinical relevance as a biomarker or therapeutic target remain unclear, as limited functional characterization exists. There is no evidence to date that DIP2A-IT1 is a therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or similar modality[1][3][7].
