Overview

Diphosphoinositol polyphosphate phosphohydrolase 3-beta (NUDT11) is an enzyme belonging to the nudix hydrolase family, with specificity for diphosphoinositol polyphosphates. It catalyzes the removal of a beta-phosphate from diphosphate groups in molecules such as PP-InsP5 (diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate), and can also act on dinucleoside oligophosphates including Ap6A and Ap5A, producing products like ADP, ATP, and p4a. NUDT11 is implicated in signal transduction and may modulate cellular stress responses and apoptosis, as well as play a role in prostate cancer pathogenesis, where its suppression affects cellular proliferation, viability, and colony formation in prostate cell lines. Tissue expression is enriched in the brain, with differential expression compared to its paralog NUDT10. No known drug interactions, biomarkers, or specific therapeutic safety concerns were identified in current literature.
