Target intelligence / Profile preview
Diphthamide biosynthesis 3 pseudogene 1 (DPH3P1) is a processed pseudogene of the DPH3 gene[4]. It lacks the exon/intron structure of a functional gene, though it contains an open reading frame; however, there is no evidence that it is translated into a functional protein. Its predicted product is sometimes called “DPH3B” or “putative DPH3 homolog B,” but functionality has not been established. Therefore, DPH3P1 should not be considered a therapeutic or biological target, and its listings in pharmacological or molecular target databases are for annotation or informatics purposes only rather than for any activity as a drug target[4].
