Diphtheria toxin antigen refers to the protein exotoxin produced by *Corynebacterium diphtheriae*. The toxin is responsible for the symptoms and pathology of diphtheria, a serious infectious disease characterized by sore throat, fever, and necrosis of respiratory tissue.
