Target intelligence / Profile preview
Discoidin domain-containing receptor 2 (DDR2) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that binds to fibrillar collagens. Upon collagen binding, DDR2 undergoes autophosphorylation and initiates downstream signaling cascades that regulate cell differentiation, proliferation, migration, survival, and remodeling of the extracellular matrix. DDR2 plays key roles in cell-matrix interactions and tissue development. Dysregulation or mutation of DDR2 is linked to fibrosis and cancer progression.
Inhibition of DDR2 tyrosine kinase activity or disruption of collagen binding.
