Divergent paired-related homeobox (DPRX)

Divergent paired-related homeobox (DPRX) is a human protein encoded by the DPRX gene, which belongs to the homeobox gene family responsible for sequence-specific DNA binding[1][2][4][5][7][8]. DPRX functions as a transcription factor that acts as a repressor, with a probable role in early embryonic development; however, direct evidence of mRNA expression in humans is lacking, and most information suggests processed pseudogenes may reflect expression in germ line or embryonic cells[1][2][4][5][7][8]. No disease role, drug interactions, or established function in adult human tissues have been conclusively demonstrated.
