Divergent protein kinase domain 1A (DIPK1A)

Target
DIPK1A
Molecular classification
Protein kinase domain family (DIPK family), Cysteine-rich type II transmembrane protein
01

Overview

Divergent protein kinase domain 1A (DIPK1A) is a member of the FAM69 family of cysteine-rich type II transmembrane proteins, predicted to reside in the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum[2][4][5]. The gene is located on human chromosome 1p22.1, and several transcript variants (isoforms) have been described[2][5][7]. The molecular and biological function of DIPK1A remains uncharacterized; no experimental evidence links it to well-defined cellular processes or disease mechanisms. While genetic associations connect DIPK1A to Diamond-Blackfan anemia 6 and interatrial communication, these links are not supported by direct functional studies[2][7]. No drugs are currently known to target DIPK1A, and there is no established use of DIPK1A as a biomarker or therapeutic target at this time[2][5][8].
