DLG2 antisense RNA 2 (DLG2-AS2) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the opposite strand of the DLG2 gene locus. It does not encode a protein but is thought to participate in the regulation of gene expression, possibly involved in cis or trans regulation of neighboring or distant genes. DLG2-AS2, like other antisense lncRNAs, may play roles in tumorigenesis and neurodevelopment, although current evidence for DLG2-AS2 specifically is extremely limited. Closely related transcripts such as DLG2-AS1 have been studied in the context of cancer (notably lung adenocarcinoma) as potential tumor suppressors and biomarkers, but there is no direct functional or disease role established for DLG2-AS2 itself, nor evidence for it as a direct therapeutic target or drug-interacting entity.
