Overview

DLGAP1 antisense RNA 2 (DLGAP1-AS2) is a long non-coding RNA located on chromosome 18, transcribed from the opposite strand of the DLGAP1 gene. It does not encode a protein but regulates the expression of other genes, such as up-regulating YAP1 in glioma, and has been shown to promote tumorigenesis and metastasis in cancers such as colorectal cancer. It has been associated as a biomarker with hepatocellular carcinoma and is linked to glioma susceptibility[1][5][6]. There is no evidence that it functions as a traditional druggable target (such as an enzyme, receptor, or ion channel), and there are currently no known drugs that directly target DLGAP1-AS2.
