Overview

DNA cross-link repair 1C pseudogene 1 (DCLRE1CP1) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 10, annotated by HGNC (HGNC:44877)[3][6][8]. It shares sequence similarity with the active DNA cross-link repair 1C (DCLRE1C) gene, which codes for the Artemis protein involved in DNA repair and immune system development. However, as a pseudogene, DCLRE1CP1 does *not* encode a functional protein and there is no evidence of biological or pathological function[3][10]. It is not considered a therapeutic target, nor is it used as a biomarker or involved in known biological pathways. If you intended to inquire about the functional DNA cross-link repair 1C gene (DCLRE1C, Artemis), which is a DNA repair nuclease and is important in V(D)J recombination and immune cell development, please specify, as information for that active gene/protein is fundamentally different[1][5][9].
