DNA crosslinking via platinum adducts refers to the process by which platinum-based compounds, such as cisplatin and its analogs, form covalent bonds with DNA. These interactions result in various types of DNA lesions, including intrastrand and interstrand crosslinks as well as DNA-protein crosslinks. The formation of these adducts is central to the mechanism of action for several widely used anticancer drugs.
