DnaJ heat shock protein family member C19 pseudogene 6 (DNAJC19P6) is a human pseudogene corresponding to a non-functional copy of the DnaJ/Hsp40 family chaperone gene. Pseudogenes such as DNAJC19P6 arise via gene duplication or retrotransposition but have acquired mutations or other genomic changes that prevent them from encoding functional proteins[2][6]. While many pseudogenes are transcriptionally silent, some can be transcribed into non-coding RNAs with potential regulatory impacts, such as modulating the expression of their protein-coding counterparts or acting as endogenous RNA decoys. However, there are no available scientific data indicating that DNAJC19P6 is expressed as RNA, regulates other genes, or participates in disease.
