The DnaJ homolog subfamily C member 7 pseudogene (ENSG00000218565, also known as LOC100129844 or DNAJC7 pseudogene) is a pseudogene: a genomic DNA sequence similar to that of a gene but nonfunctional due to mutations or loss of regulatory sequences required for normal expression[2][3]. Pseudogenes usually do not encode functional proteins and are not considered therapeutic targets, receptors, or enzymes. While the functional gene (DNAJC7) encodes a co-chaperone protein involved in protein folding, the pseudogene version has lost that capability[3][2]. There is no established biological function, disease role, or therapeutic relevance for this pseudogene, nor are there drugs, biomarkers, or safety issues associated with it. \n\nThis entry is not considered a valid drug discovery target, and inclusion as a receptor or enzyme is incorrect. Pseudogenes may sometimes have low transcriptional activity, but the functional impact is typically negligible or absent in most cases[2].
