Overview

DNAJB1 pseudogene 1 (DNAJB1P1, psiHSP40) is a nonfunctional genomic sequence in humans that is similar to, but distinct from, the protein-coding heat shock protein gene DNAJB1. As a pseudogene, DNAJB1P1 does not produce a biologically active protein and has no reported role in normal physiology or disease. It is not considered a therapeutic target and should not be confused with DNAJB1, an active molecular chaperone involved in protein folding, cellular stress response, and implicated in cancer disease mechanisms[1][5]. If you require target information relevant to disease or therapeutics, the functional protein-coding gene DNAJB1 (DnaJ heat shock protein family (Hsp40) member B1) is the appropriate entity for further inquiry[1][2][4]. DNAJB1P1 is not therapeutically relevant.
