Overview

DNAJB6 pseudogene 1 (DNAJB6P1) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene related to the Hsp40 chaperone family gene DNAJB6. Unlike DNAJB6, which encodes a ubiquitously expressed molecular chaperone involved in protein folding, aggregate inhibition, and implicated in muscular dystrophy and other diseases[1][3][5], DNAJB6P1 does not encode an active protein and is not considered a therapeutic target. Its presence in the genome reflects evolutionary remnants rather than functional gene activity.
