DNAJC3 divergent transcript (DNAJC3-DT), also known as DNAJC3 antisense RNA 1 (DNAJC3-AS1), is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed in the antisense orientation to the DNAJC3 gene. It does not encode a protein and functions primarily in the regulation of its neighboring gene DNAJC3, playing a role in modulating cellular processes such as proliferation, migration, invasion, and response to chemotherapy agents. Upregulation of DNAJC3-DT has been identified in various cancers—including osteosarcoma, renal cell carcinoma, and breast cancer—where it acts as an oncogene, influencing disease progression and resistance to cytotoxic drugs by sponging microRNAs and affecting downstream gene expression. DNAJC3-DT is associated with pathological processes, but it is not considered a canonical therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter, rather it is studied as a regulatory RNA and disease biomarker[4][5][7][8].
