Target intelligence / Profile preview
DOCK4 antisense RNA 1 (DOCK4-AS1) is a non-coding RNA gene that produces an antisense transcript at the DOCK4 locus. As with many antisense lncRNAs, it has the potential to regulate the expression of its corresponding coding gene (DOCK4) through diverse mechanisms, such as modulation of mRNA stability, chromatin remodeling, or transcriptional interference. However, to date, there is no direct experimental evidence available in the literature detailing the biological function, disease association, or therapeutic relevance of DOCK4-AS1 specifically. Most research on antisense lncRNAs demonstrates that this class of RNA can play key roles in regulating gene expression and that some are involved in cancer and other diseases, but such roles for DOCK4-AS1 remain uncharacterized at this time[1][4]. Care should be taken not to conflate DOCK4-AS1 with DOCK4 (dedicator of cytokinesis 4), the protein-coding gene, which has documented roles in cell migration, immune infiltration, and cancer[3]. If you have specific experimental data or context suggesting a functional or disease role for DOCK4-AS1, it would be advisable to consult primary literature databases, as information in current reviews and databases is insufficiently detailed to support further annotation.
