DOCK6 antisense RNA 1 (DOCK6-AS1, also called AC011472.4) is a long non-coding RNA gene annotated in the human genome[1][3][5]. It is located in the antisense orientation to the DOCK6 gene locus. Like other antisense lncRNAs, DOCK6-AS1 may act in the regulation of the neighboring DOCK6 gene or participate in broader regulation of gene networks, but no specific biological or pathological functions have been reported for DOCK6-AS1 itself in the scientific literature to date[1][3][5]. There are no current reports identifying DOCK6-AS1 as a protein-coding gene, therapeutic target, clinical biomarker, or gene with a known role in disease. The DOCK6 protein, in contrast, is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor involved in cytoskeletal organization[7], but there is no evidence that DOCK6-AS1 shares these properties or functions.
