DOCK7 divergent transcript (DOCK7-DT) is a primate-specific long non-coding RNA located near the DOCK7 protein-coding gene and transcribed in a divergent (opposite) orientation. Like other divergent lncRNAs, DOCK7-DT is thought to regulate the transcriptional activity of its neighboring gene, DOCK7. While the specific molecular mechanisms and biological roles of DOCK7-DT remain to be clarified, analogous lncRNAs may control promoter activity, influence neuronal identity, or contribute to the regulation of neurodevelopmental processes. Currently, there is no evidence that DOCK7-DT encodes a protein or acts as a direct therapeutic target, nor are there established drugs, biomarkers, or safety implications[3][5][7][8].
