Docking protein 3 (DOK3)

Target
DOK3
Molecular classification
Adaptor protein, Scaffold protein
01

Overview

DOK3 is a protein encoded by the DOK3 gene, acting as an adaptor protein facilitating the assembly of signaling complexes. It lacks intrinsic enzymatic activity and is crucial for regulating signaling pathways in various cell types, including B cells and innate immune cells. DOK3 participates in the signaling of Toll-like receptors, C-type lectin receptors, and B cell receptors, and it modulates immune responses and bone homeostasis. DOK3 functions as a negative regulator in some contexts, such as limiting B cell receptor signaling, and it also plays roles in promoting certain cellular processes like osteoblastogenesis. It interacts with various signaling molecules, including kinases and phosphatases, to modulate downstream effects.
