Dopamine receptor D1A (DRD1) is a G protein-coupled receptor that belongs to the D1-like subfamily of dopamine receptors. It is primarily coupled to Gs/olf proteins, leading to activation of adenylyl cyclase and increased cAMP production. DRD1 is highly expressed in the striatum and plays a critical role in regulating memory, learning, reward processing, locomotor activity, and motivation. Dysfunctional DRD1 signaling has been implicated in several neurological disorders including Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, ADHD, and addiction.
