Overview

DRAXINP1 (dorsal inhibitory axon guidance protein pseudogene 1) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome Xp22.31[1]. Pseudogenes are genetic elements resembling known genes but rendered nonfunctional by mutations or other defects. Unlike their protein-coding relatives, pseudogenes like DRAXINP1 do not encode proteins and are generally believed to be transcriptionally inactive, although in some cases pseudogenes can regulate the expression of their parental genes or other genes through RNA-level mechanisms such as acting as competitive endogenous RNAs or producing small interfering RNAs[2][3][4]. DRAXINP1 is not known to be involved in any disease or biological process, nor is it recognized as a therapeutic, diagnostic, or prognostic molecular target.
