Double homeobox A pseudogene 1 (DUXAP1) is a long non-coding RNA pseudogene implicated as an oncogenic driver in multiple malignancies, with key roles in promoting cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and chemotherapy resistance. In hepatocellular carcinoma specifically, DUXAP1 acts as a ceRNA by sequestering miR-584-5p, thereby upregulating MAPK1 (ERK2) and activating the MAPK/ERK pathway, which contributes to increased malignancy and drug resistance. DUXAP1 expression is upregulated via m6A methylation and is positively associated with tumor progression, recurrence, and poor clinical outcomes.
DUXAP1 acts as a molecular sponge for miR-584-5p via ceRNA mechanism, upregulating MAPK1 (ERK2) and activating MAPK/ERK signaling, thereby promoting malignant phenotype and drug resistance.
