Overview

Double homeobox A pseudogene 10 (DUXAP10) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from a pseudogene located on chromosome 14q11.2 and is approximately 2398 nucleotides in length[1][2][6]. DUXAP10 does not code for a protein but instead regulates gene expression at the epigenetic and transcriptional level. Its expression is significantly upregulated in several human cancers, and it promotes aggressive tumor phenotypes by enhancing proliferation, cell cycle progression, migration, invasion, and cancer stem cell properties while inhibiting apoptosis[1][2][4][6]. Mechanistically, DUXAP10 functions mainly through its interaction with chromatin modifiers such as LSD1, EZH2, and PRC2 to silence key tumor suppressor genes. Its overexpression correlates with advanced tumor stage, larger tumor size, metastasis, and worse prognosis in multiple cancers, making it both a potential biomarker and a therapeutic target[2][4][6]. No drugs directly targeting DUXAP10 are currently reported, but its inhibition in experimental models reduces tumorigenicity, suggesting translational potential.
