Overview

MDM4 (also known as MDMX) is a key negative regulator of the tumor suppressor p53. It inhibits p53-mediated cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Overexpression of MDM4 is found in various cancers, leading to impaired tumor suppressor function. Targeting the MDM4-p53 interaction is a promising therapeutic strategy.
