Doublesex- and mab-3-related transcription factor C1 (DMRTC1)

Target
DMRTC1
Molecular classification
Transcription factor

Overview

Doublesex- and mab-3-related transcription factor C1 (DMRTC1) is a member of the DMRT (doublesex and mab-3 related transcription factor) family and is associated with the regulation of DNA-templated transcription[5][6][8]. Unlike other members, DMRTC1 does not possess the canonical DM DNA-binding domain characteristic of the family[8]. The gene is located on chromosome X and encodes a protein believed to act in the nucleus, most likely in chromatin, in the regulation of transcription[5][7][8]. There are currently no known therapeutic drugs, biomarker applications or well-defined disease associations reported for DMRTC1.
