Overview

Downregulated RNA in cancer, inhibitor of cell invasion and migration (DRAIC) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 15 and also known as PCAT29 or LINC00593. DRAIC is primarily studied in prostate cancer, where it was identified as a transcript downregulated in androgen-independent prostate cancer cells. DRAIC is thought to function as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting both cell invasion and migration, and reducing overall tumorigenic potential. Its expression is inversely associated with cancer progression, suggesting a beneficial, protective role. It belongs to the class of long intergenic non-coding RNAs and does not encode a protein product[1][4][5].
