DPP10 antisense RNA 1 (DPP10-AS1), also known as BC032913 or LOC389023, is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed antisense to the DPP10 gene on chromosome 2. It does not code for a protein but participates in regulating the expression of neighboring or overlapping genes, notably DPP10, through mechanisms including epigenetic modification and transcriptional repression or activation[3][4][5]. DPP10-AS1 can influence multiple signaling pathways and cell behaviors, including upregulating TIMP3 and inhibiting Wnt/β-catenin signaling to suppress metastasis in colorectal cancer[1][4][7], increasing FOXM1 expression via histone acetylation in prostate cancer[5], and promoting DPP10-dependent tumorigenesis in lung cancer[6][9]. Its expression pattern and genetic/epigenetic modifications are implicated in carcinogenesis, making it a potential biomarker and experimental therapeutic target in certain cancers[1][5][6]. However, DPP10-AS1 is not considered a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter; it functions as a gene regulatory lncRNA. No approved drugs directly target DPP10-AS1, though its expression modulates resistance to some therapeutics (e.g., tetramethylpyrazine in prostate cancer)[5].
