Overview

DPP9 antisense RNA 1 (DPP9-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcript located antisense to the DPP9 gene. Long non-coding RNAs such as DPP9-AS1 typically function in gene regulation at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level, but there is currently limited information available about the biological role, expression pattern, disease relevance, or potential as a therapeutic target for DPP9-AS1 specifically. No reports describe drugs or biomarkers associated with DPP9-AS1, and there is no evidence it is classified as a therapeutic target such as an enzyme, receptor, transporter, or other protein class. Some confusion may arise because its name is similar to the protein-coding DPP9 gene, which is a member of the dipeptidyl peptidase family with roles in immune regulation and cancer biology[1][2][3][4][5]; however, DPP9-AS1 is a distinct RNA molecule and not itself an established therapeutic target.
