DPPA3 pseudogene 8 (DPPA3P8) is a processed pseudogene, specifically a retrocopy of the protein-coding DPPA3 gene located on the X chromosome. Processed pseudogenes such as DPPA3P8 arise via retrotransposition events, resulting in genomic copies that typically lack regulatory elements and protein-coding capability, and are generally not transcribed or translated. Unlike its parental gene DPPA3, which functions in chromatin remodeling and pluripotency maintenance in early embryogenesis, DPPA3P8 itself has no reported biological activity, roles in disease, or relevance as a molecular therapeutic target. Its presence is of interest mainly for genetics and evolutionary studies concerning gene duplication and retrotransposition mechanisms.
None for DPPA3P8; mechanisms of action do not apply to pseudogenes unless there is evidence of functional RNA involvement, which is not reported for DPPA3P8
