Drug transporter modulation refers to the alteration of the function, expression, or localization of drug transporters—integral membrane proteins responsible for moving drugs and other molecules across cellular membranes. These transporters are essential in determining the pharmacokinetics (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) and pharmacodynamics of many therapeutic agents.
