Dual specificity protein phosphatase 15 (DUSP15) is an enzyme encoded by the DUSP15 gene in humans. It functions as a dual specificity phosphatase, having both protein-tyrosine phosphatase and serine/threonine phosphatase activities, allowing it to dephosphorylate multiple amino acid residues on substrate proteins. DUSP15 belongs to the non-receptor class within the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Evidence suggests it may play a role in the regulation of oligodendrocyte differentiation and myelin formation and may be involved in the modulation of Notch signaling pathways[1][2][3][4][6]. No drugs targeting DUSP15 are currently known, nor are there established biomarkers or prominent safety concerns associated with this target[6]. Most research describes DUSP15 in the context of basic enzymatic function, cell differentiation, and possible roles in neurobiology, while clinical and therapeutic implications remain largely unexplored.
