Overview

Dynamin 1 is a large GTPase enzyme that plays a critical role in membrane remodeling events, particularly endocytosis and synaptic vesicle recycling in neurons. It catalyzes GTP hydrolysis to drive membrane fission. Mutations in DNM1 are associated with severe childhood epilepsy.
