Overview

Dynamin 1 pseudogene 24 (DNM1P24), also known as DNM1DN15-1, is a pseudogene identified in the human genome[6][2]. Pseudogenes are segments of DNA that resemble functional genes but typically lack the coding potential due to mutations or deletions, and are generally not transcribed into functional proteins. DNM1P24 is related to the gene encoding dynamin 1 (DNM1), but, as a pseudogene, it is not thought to produce a functional protein product[2]. There is no current evidence supporting a role for DNM1P24 in normal biological processes, disease pathology, drug interactions, or therapeutic targeting. The designation "pseudogene" indicates it is not a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or therapeutic target, and no biological or pharmacological functions have been attributed to it. The entry is valid as a genomic feature but is not a molecular target for drug discovery or clinical application. - DNM1P24 is mainly a genomic marker without known function or disease relevance. - This entry is often confused for the protein-coding dynamin 1 gene (DNM1), but DNM1P24 itself is a non-coding pseudogene and should not be considered a target[2][6].
