Target intelligence / Profile preview
Dynamin 2 (DNM2) is a large GTPase enzyme ubiquitously expressed in human tissues and encoded by the DNM2 gene. It plays a central role in membrane remodeling processes, especially during endocytosis and actin cytoskeleton organization.
Dynamin oligomerizes into helical spirals around budding vesicles or tubules, hydrolyzing GTP to provide mechanical force for membrane constriction/scission or filament remodeling.
