Target intelligence / Profile preview
Dynein axonemal assembly factor 8 (DNAAF8) is a protein involved in the assembly and deployment of the outer dynein arm (ODA) to the axoneme in ciliated cells. It interacts with components of the dynein complex and is required for proper ciliary motion. Disruption of DNAAF8 function can lead to defects in ciliary movement and is linked to ciliopathies such as primary ciliary dyskinesia[1][7][8].
