Overview

The dynein axonemal heavy chain 2 pseudogene (ENSG00000254569) is a non-coding genomic locus related to the DNAH2 gene. DNAH2 encodes a protein component of the axonemal inner dynein arm complex that is essential for ciliary and flagellar motion, particularly in sperm motility, but the pseudogene itself does not produce a functional protein and is not considered a therapeutic or drug target[2]. Pseudogenes are generally genetic relics and can sometimes play a role in gene regulation, but no such function has been described for this molecule.
