Overview
DNAI1 encodes an intermediate chain protein that is a critical component of the outer dynein arm (ODA) complex in motile cilia and flagella. Mutations in DNAI1 are associated with Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and Kartagener Syndrome, leading to defective ciliary function and associated clinical manifestations.
